Phew! Finally life has gotten back to normal after my SXSW trip. here are some live photos I took of Agent Ribbons Dirty Beaches, The Dodos, and Social Studies.

SXSW was a blast. The best part was seeing Agent Ribbons play a few times. Check out this video Outsider Music Press took of their song “Don’t Touch Me” taken during their performance at the Wiretap Music showcase.

Lauren Picks: The Hidden Cameras “Lollipop”

Lauren says, “This is technically a trailer for GB Jones’ film “The Lollipop Generation” but it kinda doubles as a music video for The Hidden Cameras “Lollipop”. Spit fire, pulsing verses switch to mega catchy sing-song type choruses and the result is a fuzzy pop gem! I was lucky enough to catch a screening of “The Lollipop Generation” last year and was smitten with this song ever since!”

The Shirts “Tell me Your Plans”

Lauren says,
“I just won this single on ebay actually, for only $6.00! This song is just such a bizarre example of power pop. I love the interaction between singer, Annie Golden, and the Mick Fleetwood/Elton John looking keyboardist…and it is hilarious how Annie is chewing gum the entire video!”

Lauren Ribbons (of Agent Ribbons) is back with another fab video pick for you!

Talk Normal “In a Strangeland”

Lauren Says:
“I saw this band at SXSW in 2010 and was blown away. Their recordings are great, but live is where the action is! I love the noisy-primal-darkness of this band. Reminds me of the most pulsating parts of Sonic Youth songs. The drummer is absolutely amazing, and I’ll admit it, those arms make me swoon a bit!”
